Frequently asked questions

Answers about Lanista, workout planning, the client app, organisation and technology.

1. General

Lanista supports training and therapy professionals with digital planning, care and documentation. Software and the client app connect training content, communication and organisational workflows in one system.

What is Lanista training software?

Lanista is web-based software for digital training and therapy support. Professionals create individual plans, use templates and provide content through the app, email or printout. Other features support communication, documentation, assessments, tests and organisational workflows.

Who is Lanista training software for?

Lanista is designed for fitness studios, physiotherapy practices, therapy centres, personal trainers and other training and health providers. The feature scope can be aligned with the application and existing workflows.

What benefits does Lanista offer?

Lanista brings workout planning, care and relevant client data together in a central application. Studio and practice teams share information, document workflows and provide content in different formats. Assessment data, body measurements and test results inform workout or therapy plans created by the professional, optionally with AI support. Plans are provided by printout or app with videos and logging. Other features include treatment documentation, therapeutic training records and paperless onboarding with online assessment.

How does Lanista differ from other training apps and software?

Lanista has undergone conformity assessment as a medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR), connecting workout planning, patient care and digital documentation in one platform. It is suited to therapy, medical fitness and clinical settings.

The interface and exercise content are available in six languages. The client app automatically displays content in the user’s preset smartphone language.

How do the studio and physiotherapy versions differ?

Both solutions connect workout planning, the client app and team care. Studios focus on workout plans, body composition analysis and goals. Physiotherapy additionally addresses treatment and training records, visual assessment, pain history and follow-up care. Studios and practices configure standards and booked options in administration. The affordable personal trainer version also includes visual assessment with pain history, goal management, workout logs and app communication, but no self-completed online assessment, Doku-Sign or comprehensive app layout settings. One tile and a link provide a personal touch.

2. Workout planning & coaching

Lanista supports individual workout and therapy planning, sharing and documentation. Your content can complement the existing exercise and plan library.

How are workout and therapy plans created?

Build individual plans from the exercise library or adapt templates. Add sets, repetitions, loads and notes for the person. You can also create a plan from a logged training session at the touch of a button.

AI suggestions offer another route after you enter the main criteria. Trainers or therapists can adapt the suggestion before release.

Can I create my own exercises and templates?

Yes. Extend the exercise library with your exercises, images, videos and explanations. Create plan templates and themed folders for recurring uses.

How do clients or patients receive their plan?

Studios or practices provide completed plans through the client app, by email or printout. Depending on use, content can also be accessed through links, QR codes, NFC tags or touch displays.Self-service and online training

3. Client management & organisation

Client and patient data, plans, tests and care history are brought together centrally. This supports teamwork and a traceable care history.

Can several staff members work with client data together?

Yes. Authorised team members access centrally stored information. New entries can be documented by date and author, keeping the care history traceable even when staff change.

What information can be stored in a client record?

Depending on use, records can bring together workout plans, logs, measurements, tests, assessment data and documentation. Actual scope depends on product version and booked modules.

Does Lanista support tasks and reminders?

Lanista provides features for recurring care tasks, plan updates and check-ups, helping teams recognise which clients or patients are due for an update or contact.

4. App & mobile use

The client app keeps content and feedback available outside the facility. Professionals use Lanista through a browser or tablet application, depending on the device.

What can clients and patients see in the app?

Shared plans can be opened with images, videos, explanations and specific training instructions. Depending on enabled features, logs, measurements, progress and chat are also available.

Doku-Sign files appear automatically in the file folder. Other files require approval by the trainer or therapist. The physiotherapy version also offers pain feedback for selected injuries.

How is the app connected with the care provider?

After invitation or activation, the client account is linked to the facility or professional. Shared content and plans are then available through personal access.

Does the client app cost anything?

No. The Lanista client app is free for clients, patients and athletes. It is connected with the facility or professional providing care. Available features depend on the product version. More about the client app.

5. Privacy & security

Lanista processes data in digital training, care and documentation workflows. Information about processing and related documents is available on our Privacy policy and GDPR pages.

What data is processed in Lanista?

Depending on use, this can include master data and information about plans, training, measurements, tests, assessments and documentation. Data actually collected depends on the application and enabled features.

What data is transferred through interfaces?

Administration connections import client and patient master data. Maintain the database in your primary system and reduce duplicate entry, typing errors and duplicate records. Booking can be linked in the app. Body composition values are extracted from report PDFs or screenshots, without a direct manufacturer interface. View all integrations.

Does Lanista support digital documents and signatures?

Yes. Doku-Sign lets you prepare documents, collect digital signatures and share them in the client record and app. Studios and practices configure documents in administration. The personal trainer version does not include Doku-Sign. Information about data processing and processing agreements is available under Privacy policy and GDPR.

6. Technology & interfaces

Lanista is web-based and designed for supported browsers and tablets. Interfaces and integrations connect it with existing administration and app solutions.

Does Lanista need a local installation?

The application is web-based and generally needs no traditional local software installation. Access is through supported browsers; the ‘Lanista Coach’ application is also available for iPad. The trainer software is not designed for smartphones because its layout would be too complex on a small screen.

Which systems can connect with Lanista?

Administration connections include Agilea, Aidoo, Centercom, Inwendo, Konsequent, Systeam, Themisoft, THEORG and Ttools. Booking services such as Doctolib, Timify and Calendly can be linked in the app. The client app can be integrated into ClubConnector, MyfitApp and TheraConnect. Industry partners including Dr. WOLFF, Five and Extrafit add exercise libraries and template plans. Details of interfaces and integrations.

How does THEORG integration work?

When activated, the interface transfers patient master data from THEORG or THEORG2GO to Lanista. Workout and therapy plans are then created in Lanista and shared through connected applications according to configuration. See THEORG integration. Single sign-on for therapists in THEORG2GO and patients in TheraConnect avoids a separate additional login; the systems handle this between them.

7. Pricing & licences

Costs depend on use, required accounts and additional modules or integrations. The current offered licence model is decisive.

Which licence models are available?

Lanista offers solutions for studios, practices and facilities, and individual trainer or therapist access. Scope, terms and included services vary by model. Current prices are transparently listed on the website.

For questions, our support and ticket system is available. Included services and optional modules are listed on the pricing page.
